我们错了!
您手中的期刊代表一项为时六年,针对中国基督徒倪柝声所发起的运动,所作之研究的成果。虽然倪氏为着他的救主死于共产党的劳改监狱,但他的职事并未因此而消 殁。在其跟随者李常受的带领下,倪氏的职事和信息传遍中国,扩展至新加坡和台湾等环太平洋国家,至终及于西方。一九六二年,李氏移居南加州,建立了地方教 会,及其出版机构水流职事站(LSM)。
或许没有什么话比“我错了”更难启齿。然而,对一个恪守“真理至上”的事工而言,愿意道出此语不是可有可无的选择,而是基本的要求。

Dear Brothers, 亲爱的弟兄们,
The January, 2010 issue of the Christian Research Journal will be dedicated almost entirely to Christian Research Institute’s change in position concerning the ministry of Watchman Nee and Witness Lee and the local churches. The title of the issue is “We Were Wrong.” The main content will be a long, seven-part article written by Elliot Miller, editor of the Journal. The issue will include a shorter “From the President” article by Hank Hanegraaff (also entitled “We Were Wrong”) and an additional article by Gretchen Passantino-Coburn.
2010年1月一期的基督教研究杂志会将几乎全部篇幅让给基督教研究会(CRI)关于其对倪柝声和李常受之职事以及地方召会的立场的改变。这期杂志的题目是“我们错了”。主要的内容是由埃利亚特-米勒,该杂志主编,写的一篇分成七个部分的长篇文章。这一期杂志还将包括由汉克-哈尼格拉夫所写的短篇“来自会长”的文章(标题也是“我们错了”)和另外一篇附加的由格雷琴-帕萨迪诺女士写的文章。*注
This is an historic event. For the first time, some outside the churches have properly researched our teachings and practices and written an excellent defense of controversial teachings of Brother Nee and Brother Lee. While the articles are written by third parties from their particular perspectives and do not necessary reflect our views in every way, our teachings concerning, for example, the Triune God are strongly affirmed. We expect that the Journal will have a very positive impact on genuine seekers of the truth and do much to open further doors for the truth.

Elliot’s article addresses the four main areas of opposition raised in the so-called Open Letter, signed by over seventy evangelicals and posted on the Internet in January, 2007: the Triune God, God’s organic salvation/deification, the “legitimacy” of evangelical churches and denominations, and the three lawsuits dealing with defamatory books. For example:
在2007年1月在互联网上张贴了一封由超过70个福音派人士签署的所谓公开信中,列举了对于地方召会四个主要反对的方面:三一神,神的生机拯救/成为神,众福音派教会及众宗派的“合法性”,和关于毁誉书籍的三项诉讼。埃利亚特的文章针对以上方面都作了回应。例如:
A section regarding the Triune God is titled, “Turning the Trinitarian Tables: What Evangelicals Can Learn from Witness Lee.”

In one place, Elliot writes, “After one devotes sufficient time to studying LC materials in context, dialoguing with its leaders and members, and observing them as they live out their individual Christian lives and collective church life, an irresistible conclusion is reached: this group is not only Christian but it is in many ways an exemplary group of Christians.”
在一处,埃利亚特写到,“在一个人花足够的时间研究地方召会的材料并注重其上下文,与其领头者和成员对话,并观察他们活出个人基督徒生活和团体的召会生活,我们无法抵挡的一个结论是:这个团体不但是基督徒,并且在许多方面是一个模范的基督徒团体。”
In reference to The God-Men trial, the article says, “Although SCP claims that the LC deliberately dragged the trial out so that SCP would be forced into bankruptcy and thus unable to make a defense, the information that came out against them in depositions and expert testimony makes it hard to imagine what kind of defense they could have mounted…”
在提到《神人》毁誉一案审理时,文章说,“虽然SCP宣称地方召会故意引出诉讼审理,以至于SCP被迫陷入破产倒闭境地而无法为自己辩护,但物证和专家证言所传递出的反对SCP的信息,使人们很难想象他们还能作出什么样的辩护...”
